Suede covers in brick red with gilt titles to spine. Two tipped in plates. Faint inscription to fep which may be Christmas 1913. Pages are thick white paper and have foliate borders, possibly holly. Some minor marks to the covers but a very attractive copy still.

Bound in blue cloth with titles in gilt and black to spine and cover with a large picture in gilt and black of a figure playing a lyre in a garden within a gilt border entitled Moxon's Popular Poets, this is a very handsome book. Some rubbing to spine ends and joints and the gilt on the figure in the centre of the page has worn around the arms but impressive still. Page edges are dipped in gilt but there is foxing on them and some of the front end pages. End pages have browned and there is splitting to hinges from outside. Text is fine. 698 pages including notes, there are also adverts for Ward, Lock Library series and a 16 page prefaratory notice.

Frederick Warne & Co. 1882 Half-Leather Good
Bound in dark red leather and cloth with marbled page edges and end pages. The spine has faded and the leather is worn at top and there is wear to corners of covers. Spine has five raised bands and six compartments, five of the compartments decorated with gilt and the other with Longfellow. Covers are bound in leather and a contrasting light pink/ red cloth. Marbled outside page edge and end pages are stunning. Text is generally clean although there is a pencil mark and an inscription scored out and some foxing to the tissue guard at the front. Binding is good but leather on outer hinge has cracked.
